Handy Coil™ LLC is the brainchild of two friends and metro Atlanta residents, David McHenry and John Norris. We’re passionate about creating innovative solutions, and our Tendril™ Brand Ties are no exception.
So, what exactly are Tendril™ Brand Ties? Simply put, they’re flexible coil-based bundle tying devices with some serious advantages. We can’t wait to share them with you!
The journey began back in 1993 when David first introduced Kurly Tie™ Brand Cable Wraps, which were handcrafted with the help of friends and family. QVC took notice, placing a large order in 1995! But as the business grew, the process became challenging, and the team, except for David’s ever-enthusiastic dad, grew weary. With a young family at home, David returned to his career as a mechanical design engineer. Yet, the idea of Kurly Ties™ never left his mind.
Over the years, with amazing feedback and suggestions from fans (you know who you are—thank you!) the demand for Kurly Ties™ grew. After retiring from his day job, David decided it was time to bring Kurly Ties™ back to life, and began producing them once more. Paul Kelley, a HAM Radio enthusiast, quickly became a fan and invited David to sell the ties at the Stone Mountain Hamfest. There, David met John Norris, and the rest, as they say, is history.
John brought his extensive experience in manufacturing, engineering, design, and sales to the table. Together, they formed Handy Coil LLC. A new, automated machine was designed to more efficiently produce Tendril™ Brand Ties.
We now produce Tendril™ Brand Ties in three different sizes and two colors, with plans to offer even more options soon.
